A fisherman on the Li River near Xingping, Guilin Province, China, uses cormorants to help him. The fish are attracted to the light from the lamp, and the cormorants, which have rings around their necks to prevent them from swallowing the larger fish, catch the fish and bring them to the raft. Once the fisherman has enough to feed his family the rings are removed and the birds are fed.
